ACTIVE /

RELEASE

A structured, Ashtanga-inspired sequence that begins in intensity and resolves into stillness.

The first half of the practice is dynamic and heat-building through continuous but slow movement. The breath-led flow is designed to awaken the body, build strength, and sharpen focus. Movement is deliberate and rhythmic, creating momentum through repetition and progression.

As the practice unfolds, the pace begins to soften. The second half transitions toward the floor, where postures are held for longer durations, allowing the system to down-regulate and absorb the work. These passive shapes invite release through the deeper layers of the body, shifting the emphasis from effort to sensation.

This is a complete arc — from activation to release — working through both the muscular and nervous systems.

You leave clear, grounded, and reset. Open to all levels

PASSIVE /

RESTORATION

A slow, deeply grounding practice designed to guide the body and mind into full release.

We begin in seated meditation, taking time to arrive and settle, gently unwinding through the neck and shoulders to dissolve surface tension and bring awareness inward. From here, the body is gradually introduced to subtle, mindful movement — simple, low-intensity sequences designed to ease stiffness, awaken circulation, and soften the outer layers of the body without strain.

As the practice unfolds, we transition fully down to the floor. The majority of the class is spent in supported, long-held postures using props to allow the body to completely let go. These passive shapes work deeply into the connective tissues, joints, and fascia, encouraging a gradual opening while signalling the nervous system to down-regulate.

There is no force here — only time, support, and space to release.

This is a profoundly calming practice, ideal for unwinding at the end of the week. You’ll leave feeling deeply reset, softened, and restored — physically, mentally, and energetically.

SOUND /

MEDITATION

Beginning in seated meditation, the practice opens through guided breathwork, and deep listening techniques, gradually settling the nervous system and establishing a shared field of attention through sound and vibration.

Gentle movement is introduced through the neck, shoulders, and upper body to release superficial tension, awaken circulation, and soften physical holding patterns before gradually transitioning down to the floor.

From here, the practice becomes increasingly passive, allowing the body to fully settle into stillness. Resting in Savasana, you are immersed in an extended sound meditation through layered gong, singing bowls, and continuous tanpura drone — a dense and meditative field of resonance designed to quiet mental activity, deepen rest, and dissolve awareness into sound.

Kamelia Sara holds a local weekly practice rooted in traditional awareness practices through movement, meditation, and Nada Yoga (sound meditation).

Drawing from established lineages alongside her own work as an artist and musician, each session moves through dynamic movement, breathwork, seated meditation, stillness, and deep listening. Sound is approached as a core part of the practice — not background atmosphere, but a method of attention and regulation in itself.

The practice is designed for those looking to build consistency over time: a grounded, repeatable space to return to each week, held outside of the commercial studio environment and shaped through an ongoing artistic practice.

Practice is currently held at :  STARR STUDIO Unit 12, 2-16 Bayford St, London E8 3SE
